Aim:  How can we find information about economic systems by using the CIA World Factbook?

Materials:  Computers with Internet access

                    Handouts

Standards Met:  Information Literacy Standards for Student Learning:  Standards 1, 2,  6,

Content Objectives:  Students will be able to:

· Search economic information about countries of the world using the CIA World Factbook.

Social Objectives:

· Working in small groups, students will use the Internet CIA World Factbook Website to find economic formation about three countries. They will answer all questions on the comparative systems handout.

· After completing the handout, students will answer seven critical thinking questions on the website about economic systems.

Motivational Activity:     

Use the Internet website to answer economic questions on the handout about three countries with different economic systems.  Your group will present your answers to the class.
